I THINK they made have made a mistake...

BONUS ENTRY, Why? Because this is too dumb to pass up.

"Dead" Man Wakes Up Under Autopsy Knife

Mon Sep 17, 8:53 AM ET

The Story:

"CARACAS (Reuters) - A Venezuelan man who had been declared dead woke up in the morgue in excruciating pain after medical examiners began their autopsy.

Carlos Camejo, 33, was declared dead after a highway accident and taken to the morgue, where examiners began an autopsy only to realize something was amiss when he started bleeding. They quickly sought to stitch up the incision on his face.

"I woke up because the pain was unbearable," Camejo said, according to a report on Friday in leading local newspaper El Universal.

His grieving wife turned up at the morgue to identify her husband's body only to find him moved into a corridor -- and alive.

Reuters could not immediately reach hospital officials to confirm the events. But Camejo showed the newspaper his facial scar and a document ordering the autopsy."

Hmmm...I'm no doctor, but I think the breathing and the fact that he didn't become pale would kind of give it away...but like I said I'm not a doctor. Maybe these guys should've taken this course. Unless they want the...more extensive version.

Woah, reminds me of that episode of Heroes where the girl with the healing power is "killed," has an autopsy performed on her, then wakes up (comes back to life) on the autopsy table.. with her chest split wide open. It was the first thing I thought of when the story mentioned the guy woke up as soon as a knife started cutting up his face!

I'm guessing one EMT probably quickly determined he was "dead", maybe s/he was lazy that day, then everyone else in the rest of the process just went with that mistaken assumption. What a mistake to make though :-P

Wow that sounds insane. I can't imagine being the guy who woke up during his autopsy! I guess it kind of reminds us that people in important professions are just people after all and don't always get it right. But even so, that is just downright scary.

I noticed you like stories about dumb people. I write about dumb famous people on my blog

I heard about this on the Alice morning show on the way to school the other day. What an insane story. Remind me to never get in a car accident in Venezuela (why do I feel like I shouldn't have written that?). So, I'm not sure what can be added to this story, although, I really wish that this guy and the coroner had had a little more time and devised a fiendish, yet hilarious plan to surprise the wife when she came to identify the body. Like, he could have jumped up and yelled, "Got ya suckas". On the radio, they discussed how awkward it would have been if she had shown up with her boyfriend, and then had to introduce the two. Seriously, how the hell does this happen. They need to teach these EMT's to take a proper pulse. Keep the goofy stories coming.

It's weird that people actually go through these things. It just shows you that anything is possible. Especially, the story about the autopsy incident is really, really so real. It's kind of scary, especially if you think someone is dead but they might still be alive.
How did you decided to make this your main topic as a blog?

Augh! How horrible! But at the same time, how wonderful for your blog. I can only imagine what it's like for you to find stuff to post, given your theme. Should I be worried? : )

The only thing I want more of is writing by you in future posts! Reposting is OK, but don't forget who the real blogger is around here.

Looking forward to more!
